Purpose of this research is to know how the responses of these toward the message content, news value, presentation of photography, and language style. This research used descriptive. The data collecting in this research used questionnaires, improve literature study and interview. The number of samples more 87 respondents which were taken from population communication students of FISIP UNIKOM. The sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling.
The result of this research showed that more than half population has a good response toward the message content on life style column in Pikiran Rakyat daily news. Has presented variation of themes is 42%, clarity element is 59%, and benefit content message is 66%. In addition, with news value that more than 55 % of the respondent commented that the life style column presented information newness, information completeness, and entertained information. Almost of half of respondent answered that the presentation of photograph has interested and accurated between photo and news content is 48% and 42%. According to respondent about language style in life style column, more than half respondent answered that content in this column understood is 55% and simple 54%.
In general, the good responses of these toward life style column in Pikiran Rakyat daily news. It was evidenced that all of questions asked in questionnaires distributed to respondents which were they had read and interested such life style column in Pikiran Rakyat daily news.
