This research entitled The Application of Persuasive Techniques in Radio Advertisements Using Englishis aimed to find the persuasive techniques mostly used and the types of purposes of persuasion mostly used in radio advertisements. The research uses qualitative method to get the results of this research. The radio advertisements include 25 radio program advertisements and 5 event advertisements. The 30 radio advertisements were taken from English Programs in three radio stations. The 30 radio advertisements were transcribed to make them easier to be analyzed. Then, the transcibings of the 30 radio advertisements were identified to find the persuasive techniques used and the types of purposes of persuasion used in the radio advertisements. The result of this research shows that the persuasive techniques mostly used in radio advertisements are emotional appeals. Meanwhile, the types of purposes of persuasion mostly used in radio advertisements are amplify attitude. Keywords: Radio Advertisements, Persuasive Techniques, and Purposes of Persuasion.
