Vocabulary is by far the most important of the four skills in a second language, particularly in English as second or foreign language. But related to the condition and situation right now, there are some students who still unable to mention vocabulary comprehensively. To face this common problem there must be some ways and solutions to improve the students’ vocabulary achievement through the available teaching method, in this case the researcher used Pelmanism game to know the effect of Pelmanism game in students’ vocabulary achievement. In this research, the general problem is “Pelmanism game has significant effect on students’ vocabulary achievement of SMPN 1 suboh in 2010/2011 academic year?”. Based on the the research general objective is intended to investigate “whether pelmanism game has significant effect or not on the students’ vocabulary achievement of the first year student of SMPN 1 Suboh in 2010 /2011 academic year.The design of this research is quasi Experimental, with randomized control and experiment groups’ pre test - post test design. The research subject are VIIf and VIIg (VII f as a control group and VII g as a experimental group) which is consist 35 students in each class and to obtain the research data used vocabulary test in the primary data and interview and documentation in the supporting data. To calculate the students vocabulary achievement score, the researcher uses this formula: The result of data analysis or the value of t-test is (3.57) it is higher than the critical value of t-table (2.01) with significant level of 5% . It means that there is a significant effect of Pelmanism game on students' vocabulary achievement of the first year students of SMPN I Suboh in 2010/2011 academic year.
