Based on the data analysis in Chapter IV, it can be concluded that, ÃâThere is significant effect speed reading technique on the reading comprehension achievement of the second year students at SMPN 3 Kencong - Jember in the academic year of 2010/2011Ãâ. The result of data analysis or the value of t-test (7.18) is higher than critical value of t-table (2.00) with significance level of 95%.
The result of data analysis shows that the value of t-test (3.86) is higher than critical value of t-table (2.00) with significance level of 95%. It means that, ÃâThere is significant effect of speed reading technique on the literal comprehension achievement of the second year students at SMPN 3 Kencong - Jember in the academic year of 2010/2011Ãâ.
The result of data analysis shows that the value of t-test (5.25) is higher than critical value of t-table (2.00) with significance level of 95%. It means that, ÃâThere is significant effect of speed reading technique on the inferential comprehension achievement of the second year students at SMPN 3 Kencong - Jember in the academic year of 2010/2011. The result of the research is expected to be used as consideration to achieve the ultimate goal in English teaching learning process, especially in reading comprehension. Therefore, the following suggestions are directed to the following people:
Realizing the effectiveness of using speed reading technique on improving studentsÃâ reading comprehension, the English teachers are suggested to use this technique as a teaching method in teaching English especially teaching reading. The use of speed reading will increase the studentsÃâ interest and motivation in learning English as a foreign language.
It is suggested that the students pay more attention to particular item of speed reading technique considered difficult for them. They should have more concentration when they are involved in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. That is why in this case the students must pay attention to what the teacher gives as the teaching method in the teaching learning process of English especially in teaching reading. The students should study harder in speed reading technique to be more capable and master in reading comprehension.
The researcher hopes to other researchers will do further research to find the cause of difficulties in reading comprehension achievement of other indicators, because this research only focuses on speed reading technique for literal and inferential reading comprehension achievement. Furthermore, conducting a further research dealing with a similar topic may use different research design such as Classroom Action Research (CAR) or the other designs that the researcher wants to use.
