This research investigated narrative techniques and figurative languages in the lyrics of Taylor Swift's songs. By knowing the narrative techniques and the figurative languages, which are often ignored by people, people will understand more about the meanings of the song lyrics. In conducting this research, eight song lyrics were selected based on the songs that are strong of narrative techniques and have the background story of her. In analyzing the song lyrics, qualitative method is used. The result of this research is that all narrative techniques are used in the eight song lyrics. Moreover, the figurative language that is mostly used is anaphora. It can be concluded that Taylor Swift's songs are memorable since they contain many repeated words.
