The final project is about the making of a book of a collection of three gothic short stories that take place in Indonesia, use Indonesian characters and are written in English. This project aims to develop original gothic short stories and introduce Indonesian gothic stories. Moreover, the result of the project is hoped to contribute to literatures in English written by an Indonesian author. The theoretical framework used in developing the project includes definition and elements of short story, definition and characteristics of gothic writing techniques, writing styles and design of the product. Method of production begins with determining the story, collecting data, writing process, designing product, and printing and binding. Collecting data is divided into two: personal experience and library study. The writing process consists of brainstorming ideas; determining theme, characterization, and plot; making summary; editing and revising; dividing summary into events using story table; editing revising; writing pieces of the events; editing and revising; and gathering all the pieces into one whole story. The result of this final project is a product entitled Gending and Other Stories. The product is printed in a book form, and has a total of 122 pages.
