This project is about the making of a guidebook for preparing and delivering speech. The book is intended for the Staff of PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII especially Marketing Department Staff. This project was conducted in order to inform and guide in performing speech. This project was done by using qualitative method. A speech, writing techniques, and presentation theories were utilized in this project. Three methods were used in conducting this project; those are interview, placement test, and library studies. The result of this project is a guidebook of an extemporaneous speech entitled “A Guide to an Extemporaneous Speech for Selling Products”. The information of this guidebook is about extemporaneous speech. Besides, the project used some steps in organizing script-including the transition signal used in extemporaneous speech. Those are the introduction, the body and the conclusion. Also, on the project, it was explained some steps in delivering speech by giving some tips in using body language and voice effectively. The writing techniques used in this guidebook were explanatory, process, imperatives and descriptive. The language style used in writing this guidebook was informal. Therefore, the process of making the guidebook was not simple to create but it needed carefulness and forbearing.
