This project is about compiling a bilingual dictionary of legal terms used in business documents. This project entitled The Making of a Model of Legal Terms Dictionary in Business: Indonesian-English (Membuat Model Kamus Terminologi Hukum dalam Bisnis: Indonesia-Inggris) has the objective to assist beginner translators in translating legal documents in business. Moreover, it also aims to help the users of legal documents to have better understanding of the unfamiliar legal terms appear in the documents. The qualitative method is applied in this project, for the data are in the form of texts. In conducting this project, several stages were done including doing library study, identifying legal documents, collecting data, translating, writing front matters, designing cover and layout, proofreading and editing, and lastly printing the dictionary. Relevant theories were used when producing the dictionary comprising lexicography theories such as Atkins and Rundell (2008), Gibbon (2007), and Nielsen (1994), and translation theories such as Newmark (1998), Larson (1998), and Tou (1989). The result of this project is a 300-entry bilingual dictionary of legal terms used in business documents. Keywords: Dictionary, legal terms, business.
