This project is about writing a novelette for children of 9-12 of ages. A novelette is a story book which has the amount of words greater than a short story and consists of more plots development. The project has the aims to attract readers especially children of 9-12 of ages in reading story books, to give the access to story books with good quality of English language, and to fulfill the need in learning English language through other media. In writing the novelette, there are several progresses which are deciding its content, writing the story based on a story table, revising and editing the story that has been constructed through the story table, designing the novelette's layout through editing software, and printing the novelette. The project uses personal experiences and library studies such as story books and picture books in order to provide as many inspirations as possible for creating a logical, natural, and interesting story. The theories such as the elements of novelette used for writing the novelette connect with the experience for the story's inspirations as the theories are applied as the foundation in creating the story's mindmap. The result is a novelette titled "The Adventure to the Nature" for children of 9-12 of ages. From the result, it is implied that this project contributes to English novelette written by Indonesian writer, and this project can attract more children to read story books.
