This final project is about The Making of an Informational Book about tumpeng. Tumpeng is one of Indonesian traditional foods which is usually served in several events as a main food. Most of Indonesian usually only serve tumpeng as a symbol of an event without knowing the philosophy. That is why the book project is written in order to keep and maintain this kind of Indonesian traditional food and the tradition of tumpengan (the events which serve tumpeng) also to inform the foreigners about this kind of Indonesian tradition. This project report is written to explain the detail of the process in making the book product. The points discuss in this book are the history of tumpeng, the kinds of tumpeng, the meanings and moral values, the recipe of Sundanese tumpeng, also the events which serve tumpeng as a tradition. The theories are used to develop this project are the theory of informational book, the theory of tradition, and the theory of traditional food. Besides, several types of writing techniques are also used in writing this informational book, there are descriptive, expository, direct quotation and persuasive. After the writing process is finished, designing, printing and binding are the final touch in making this book.
