Indie films classify as a genre of film that are still underestimated by some people in Indonesia, but in the following years, Indie film has been spreading out in Indonesia, and it makes number of indie film communities established. It is because the story of Indie film different from other genres. The different of the story from other is even it has short duration, meaning of the film is big and sometimes, it is hard to understand the film. The film is good if not only known by Indonesian viewers, but also International viewers. However, in presenting the film, there are some weaknesses in translating and subtitling. Sometimes, indie filmmaker is less attention in translation of the film, so the the result translation is inappropriate in level at target language. This project has aims to help indie film communities in translating their film and making subtitle of the film in order to get the best result in subtitle of the film. There are two films in the project, Dunia Kerja Sandy and Mepet Pacar. In process of translating the film, the writer focused on the variety of language by Mona Baker, Evoked meaning, so the translation can be enjoyed by International viewer. Hopefully, the result of this project can help Indie film communities in translating their film, and this project can inspire them in process of translating.
