In Geology Museum there are a lot of documentary films that are usually played in the auditorium of the museum but unfortunately there is no English subtitle for some films. Therefore, in order to help the international visitor to understand the films this project is carried out. The project is the making of subtitles for the three documentary films entitled Cekungan Bandung, Sang Perintis, and Pusaka Bumi Kars Rajamandala. The steps to do in conducting this project are watching the films, transcribing the films, reading the transcriptions, translating, editing and revising and inserting the subtitle into the videos. This project comes up with some results namely, the transcription of the films, the subtitle that has been inserted in the videos and the analyses of translation techniques and subtitling strategies used. The nine of 18 translation techniques by Molina and Albir were used in making the subtitle. They are Amplification, Borrowing, Calque, Generalization, Literal, Modulation, Particularization, reduction and Transposition. Besides, the eight of ten subtitling strategies by Gotlieb used are Condensation, Decimation, Deletion, Dislocation, Expansion, Imitation, Paraphrase, and Transfer. This project has some contributions, among others to Geology Museum management in or helping the International visitors who come to Geology Museum understand the documentary films and get a lot of information from the films.
