The title of this final project is translating a short story entitled Jendela Rara written by Asma Nadia. The title of the short story has been translated into Rara, a little girl and her window. This short story is about a girl who had a big dream and she worked hardly to reach what she wanted. It has adopted into a movie in 2011. The writer tried to encourage readers to never get tired and get bored to reach their dreams. To translate this short story, the first method of approach by Newmark was used, that is, translating the text sentences by sentences to get the feel and the feeling tone of the text, and then review the position, and read the rest of the source language text. The setting of this story is in Indonesia; thus it contains many Indonesian cultural words like the title to call someone that tried to be preserved. The translation technique that mostly used from Molina and Hutardo Albir are literal, transposition, modulation and reduction, and the metaphor procedures that mostly used are procedure number one, and six.
